Colossians
Let the Peace of Christ Fill Your Life
Based On: Colossians 3:12-17
Have you ever walked into a house where someone just finished baking bread? Do you remember the smell when the oven door opens and the bread is taken out to cool? It is a delicious smell and no matter where you go in the house, the aroma seems to follow you. The smell fills the house so that no matter where you go in the house you can't stop thinking about fresh bread.
Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts. In the same way that the aromas from the kitchen permeate the entire house, let the peace of Christ fill your life. First, Paul describes what it looks like to be filled with the peace of Christ, then he explains how we have that peace.
School Closing Program
Based On: Colossians 2:6-7
Dear students, parents, relatives, and friends.
Well, students, you have finished another year of school. What will you do over the summer? Perhaps your family has travel plans or you will be attending camp this summer. Perhaps you are really excited about the idea of having no plans whatsoever for summer. Regardless of your summer plans, please remember that whatever you do, continue to live in Jesus Christ. “Continue to live in him” – these words were written for all Christians – those in Kindergarten, those in 1st grade, all the way up to 8th grade and even older.
