About:

Bethlehem is the city to which Mary and Joseph traveled in order to be registered for the Roman census and the one in which Jesus was born (Luke 2:1-7), as prophesied by Micah (Micah 5:2). In the Old Testament Rachel, Jacob’s wife, is buried near Bethlehem (Genesis 35:9).  Bethlehem is also called the City of David because King David was born and raised there.
