Dead Sea
About:
The Dead Sea is located in the southern end of the Jordan River. It is the location of the lowest elevation on earth. Because the Dead Sea has no way for water to exit all of the salt is kept in the sea. The high salt content of the water prevents fish and other marine animals from living there, thus the name “Dead Sea”. The salt in the water also causes swimming to be like floating and if you have the right footwear you can walk on water. The Dead Sea is called the Salt Sea in Scripture and is referenced mainly as a landmark.
