About:

The Holyland model of Jerusalem is a 21,520 square foot model of Jerusalem during the second temple period (around the time of Jesus). This 1:50 scale model was commissioned in 1966 by Hans Kroch. In 2006, the model was relocated to the southern edge of the Billy Rose Sculpture Garden at the Israel Museum.

Reflection:

This is an excellant exhibit, especially after going to the Mount of Olives.  From the Mount of Olives you can see the city of Jerusalem as it is now, then at this exhibit you can see how the city might have looked soon after the time of Jesus.  This model gets changed whenever new archeaological evidence is found so it is as accurate as currently possible.
