About:

Tel Hazor is the archaeological site of Hazor, a city in Upper Galilee. The site was originally mentioned in Joshua as an opposing Canaanite city which was destroyed in the conquest of northern Canaan. It was rebuilt, and became the seat of Jabin, a Canaanite king who conquered the Israelites in Judges 4. The commander of his army was Sisera; they were defeated by Barak and his army. Later Hazor was rebuilt as a border fort by King Solomon to protect inner Israel. However during the reign of subsequent kings it may have fallen into enemy hands.  Hazor was destroyed again when Assyria conquered Israel.  Later, its ultimate abandonment was prophesied in Jeremiah 49:33.
